Great Week!
This week has turned out to be a great week for my art. In less than 3 days I gave a presentation about my work, got Audience Choice Award for it, ended up finalist of the Best of College Photography 2010 (Photography's Forum Magazine), My photo is used by a local blogger that covered the event and I got the news release of my thesis show. A lot for such amount of time. But I guess that's how life works. Here is a little more details on each event:Wednesday, Feb 27th - 15 Minutes of Fame talk - FMoPAI had the opportunity to talk about my work, for the first time, outside Atlanta. We were 6 presenters, different degrees and years of experience in Photography just talking about what we love. At the end, all of the visitors had the opportunity to vote for their favorite. It was a tied between me and Robert Neff . On a curious note, he was also an engineer. You can find a little more info about the activity in Dawn Elliot blog, Tampa Do-Gooder. The photo she uses, is one of my most recent work.Friday, Feb 29th (Today)First of all, I received a letter from Photography's Forum Magazine telling me that I was one of the finalist of the Best of College Photography 2010. What that means is that my photo is going to be published in a Best of College Photography 2010 publication and that I have the chance to compete for the next round with prices from $100 to a new Nikon. Being in the book is already a big deal, so I'm excited. The photo that entered was this one:This photo is part of my thesis, which will be up @ The Showcase School of Photography by the end of February. The Opening Reception will be on February 26th, 2010 from 6:30-9pm. If you are in the Atlanta area, make sure to stop by!
