Doctor Who Wedding - Magnolia Point Golf Club - Beth & Ken
Beth and Ken pulled the ultimate Doctor Who Wedding...on the second try. Let me explain. The original wedding date was October 8th. But Hurricane Mathews decided to crash the wedding and it was moved to February 24th. Beth and Ken got married anyways at the courthouse and enjoyed their awesome honeymoon at the Walt Disney World. All of us had to wait until the new date to enjoy the awesome wedding they put together!
When we arrived at Magnolia Point Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida, the day was a perfect sunny day, not a single sign of bad weather ahead. As soon as you entered the room, you could appreciate all the details that they worked so hard to make. Beth and Ken made sure that not a corner was missing their touch. I can't even tell you which one was my favorite detail. I was geeking out so bad!
In the end, it was the celebration they planned and hoped for. But enough of words, let's go to the photos, shall we?
I love when couples decide on the first look. It truly gives them a moment to breathe and spend by themselves before all the craziness of the day. I was so glad when Beth and Ken told me they wanted the first look. What a better place than in front of the Tardis?
Another personalization that they decided to do was to have their converse costume made not only the color but with their last names in the back. How cool are they? and a great way to do a little tribute to the 10th Doctor!
The Ceremony procession started with the flower girls...bounding as Little Daleks and one of the cutest cosplayer of the 11th Doctor ever as the ring bearer!
Ken and his niece, Reagan, had a made-up superhero duo called: Bullshit Man and Shenanigans. Since their superhero uniform includes a tux, of course, we were going to recreate it!
Instead of a traditional first dance, and since the theme of the wedding was time, they opted to invite all the guest to dance the Time Warp from Rocky's Horror Picture Show:
The Cake, let me talk to you about the cake. Starting with the cake topper, it was taken from one of my favorite episodes, Blink. The cake itself was inspired by the Van Gogh Episode. It sat on top of a replica of the T.A.R.D.I.S console, made by Ken and Beth. To finish it up, an assortment of different flavored cupcakes, all delicious!
Congratulations to Ben and Ken (and happy belated Second-Wedding Anniversary!). It was such an honor and fun to shoot your Doctor Who Wedding!
